Guidelines for resuming therapy services in my office

Dear clients of Friendswood Family Counseling,

I miss seeing you and being with you in my office.  It grieves me for us to be apart from one another for so long.  I feel incredibly thankful that so many of you have been willing to modify your therapy sessions to telehealth and it has certainly helped to sustain us during the past several weeks.  Thank you for the way you have adapted to this new type of therapy.

Now that many businesses are re-opening, many of you have been enquiring when I’ll return to the office for in person sessions.  I want to resume as soon as I feel confident that I am not putting you, my clients, at harm physically and emotionally.  I am curious to see how loosening the social distancing recommendations beginning on May 8 is going to impact our community.  This information is important to me to consider before I return to the office.

Additionally,  I wanted to let you know what I’m doing to monitor the coronavirus and how I’m using that information to help determine when I’ll return to the office.

The national guidelines are as follows and I’m using them to help guide my own decision making.

  1. 14 days of a downward trajectory of new COVID 19 cases
  2. 14 days of a downward trajectory of positive COVID 19 tests
  3. Robust testing is in place for Galveston, Brazoria and Harris Counties

Also, I am daily tracking a wide variety of information from our local area and here are the websites I’m using to guide my decision to return:

Covid-19 Positive Case Growth Trend

I’ll let you know as soon as possible when I’m returning.  I’m hoping by the end of May or early June.  Please remember to be kind to yourself and to others in the meantime.
